Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) was featured on the Uptick radio show with Everett Jolly. In the interview he gives an update on the progress of its multi-purpose industrial hemp decortication plant in Spring Hope, NC, the only one of this magnitude in the U.S.
The plant is ramping up towards production of the first products. In fact, because of the inventory of kenaf warehoused in the decortication plant, sales are already underway. Industrial Hemp Manufacturing LLC (wholly owned subsidiary of Hemp, Inc.) is currently bagging SpillSuck 25 lb. bags and actively making sales. In the recent press release, Hemp, Inc. announced a sale for raw kenaf. DrillWall is another product that will soon be ready for sales.
Bruce also discusses the role the decortication plant plays in the fiber space for large manufacturers who are starting to use hemp. He also talks about the industry and the huge amounts of money involved in the industrial hemp space.
This is the new video update on the decortication plant in North Carolina that will soon be processing the kenaf fields we just harvested. We know you have waited anxiously, but we have been hard at work as you will see.
We show you the birdseye view of the kenaf fields being harvested. After that the stalks are left to “rett” in the field to separate the outer “bast” fiber from the core. Then it will be ready for decortication and processing into industrial products. The first products we will produce are DrillWall Loss Circulation Material (LCM) and SpillSuck, an absorbent oil spill cleanup material.
The video shows the completed compressor lines and the extensive electrical “brains” of the Temafa decortication plant that is close to completion.
We also just had a break in the weather so we could pour the cement slab for the silo that will house the fiber we process.
You will get to see the portable decortication prototype we are developing. This will allow farmers to process the stalks right in the fields. Look closely at who is feeding the kenaf into the decorticator! It’s our fearless leader Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp Inc.
In this age of technology we often forget to look back at our history to see how we have arrived at our current advances. The origin of our handheld computer devices can point back to 1946 and the invention of the first computer – ENIAC Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) was one of the first […]
Did you know that the first decortication machine was invented by George Schlichten in 1917? He spent $400,000 of his own money over an eighteen year period to perfect his design. Why should you care about something built 100 years ago? You should care because this decortication machinery that was once left to rust from […]
The reassembly of the decortication plant to manufacture industrial hemp in North Carolina is moving along. But like many projects of this size there have been unforeseen delays. No doubt about it though, Hemp, Inc. will manufacture industrial hemp products next year. This will be a state of the art decortication plant when the plant is completed. […]
